Edwards Wins Debate 83% to 17% In Parallel Universe
Before the debate the Dems e-mail their their minions to “stuff the ballot boxes” in the online polls.
The MSNBC poll I checked right after the debate had Edwards winning 83% to 17%. Does anyone in this universe, on this planet, in three dimensions of space and one of time, agree with that?
Next, they lose the debate and they’re still at it.
See the bullshit artists, we’re up against?
This new Kerry crowd is going to make Bill Clinton look like Ronald Regan by comparison. I don’t want to scare anybody but, Ted Kennedy as Secretary of Defense? Madeline Albright as Secretary of State again? (remember: she gave North Korea the nuclear fuel that they used to develop the nuclear weapons they now have). Hillary Clinton as Secretary of Homeland security? The Rev. Al Sharpton as Attorney General?
I'm not kidding!

Oh my God! You really are not kidding, are you? Kennedy in the cabinet? We, who love this country, cannot let that happen.

Speaking of bullshit artists, apparently Dick Cheney has met John Edwards twice before. When Elizabeth Dole was sworn in by Senate President Cheney as the junior senator from North Carolina just last year, it was Senator Edwards who escorted her to Mr. Cheney. Senator Dole was sworn in by Cheney using Mrs. Edwards' bible.

Cheney's comment did make for a zinger at the debate... for a brief moment.
You're right, Mark. There is a parallel universe:
Democratic Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe sent an e-mail that included Web links to online polls on the Web sites of broadcast and cable networks, telephone numbers for national call- in shows and a way to write a letter to the editor of local newspapers "with just a few clicks."
Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman said the Republicans regularly encourage their supporters to make similar efforts. For the night's meeting, the party has helped organize "debate parties"and as part of that "we're encouraging them to take part in grassroots activities,"he said in Coral Gables.

Dear d_orlando, I am what you could call a "grass root" Republican activist. For the past three elections I have been involved in the Republican voter registration program and in the get out the vote effort. I am on every Republican mailing list there is. I did receive an e-mail from the RNC about last night's debate parties, and attended one, but rest assured there was no "ballot stuffing" involved. As a matter of fact I have never received a message from the RNC that suggested anything like what the McAuliffe email does. This tactic is far too childish and petty to ever be adopted by our side.

Here’s the real question about these online polls. Why do the Democrats even want to slant them for their candidate? So they say Edwards won the debate 83 to 17. How does that help them? Why do they care? Do they think independents are so dumb that if they watched the debate and thought Cheny was the better man but then see this poll they’ll say “Gee I must be stupid, my opinion must be wrong? It’s crazy.
John K, independent voter
That's exactly what they think.
